The estate is filled with over 3,000 olive trees, carp ponds, and woodlands. The swimming pool is spectacular. Be sure to soak up the views at sunset from the pool terrace with a glass of local wine as you gaze at the horizon in the distance. You can also book an Ayurvedic massage and other peace-filling treatments at the onsite Oasis Ayurveda overlooking olive groves.

If you are in for more energetic fun, you can hike or mountain bike through the owners' private forest, or even fish for a carp in a lake on the estate.

Dining out is a valid option nearby Massa Marittima, as it boasts plenty of great eateries.

Montemassi, Sticciano and Roccatederighi and the beaches around Castiglione della Pescaia offer plenty of sightseeing. Massa Marittima provides all groceries.

Pieve Maremmana is an excellent spot for intimate weddings, for which you will have to reserve the entire property. A maximum of 30 people can be catered a t a time.

Interiors

Walking into the reception of Pieve Maremmana is rather like entering the restored ruins of a cathedral, with its soaring arches and lofty windows.

Inside, you're greeted with a slightly chaotic wealth of family crests, paintings, musical instruments, religious craftworks, old chests, and hunting trophies scattered on walls, tables and alcoves with studied familiar carelessness. It's worth taking time to stroll around.

Suites and apartments at Pieve Maremmana are distributed through the estate's collection of old farm buildings, and all are air conditioned. They too retain all the atmosphere of past times, and are filled with antiques and paintings, raftered ceilings, high stone fireplaces and original tiled floors. Some rooms have their own farmhouse kitchen, wood-burning stove and cozy dining area.
Lace curtains and bedspreads lend a rustic charm. Thanks to the absence of a TV set your rest will be uncontaminated. After dark sit on your terrace by candlelight with a bottle of local wine till the midnight hour, or curl up in front of the fireplace in your suite.

Breakfast at Pieve Maremmana is generally served in the chandeliered dining room, but you can enjoy yours in your fully-equipped kitchen or have it serve in your room or apartment. Guests often stay here for weeks at a time, cooking in their suite and treating the place very much as a home away from home.
