It was a great vacation for us - a group of 4 family of friends - 16 people: 8 adults and 8 children under the age of 6.
Betty and Nicholas her son were very helpful.
The location of the villa is the best! It enabled us to stay in the villa until 12:00 or even later and only then begin our journy to the lovely cities /villages of Tuscany. (usually maximum of one hour distance).
With young kids it is the most important since they don't like to have long trips sitting in the car.
Betty even gave us a local Italy cell phone with SIM card in it so it could assist us during our stay and it was very heplful and we didn't know it is included.
Also, Florence, the nice who came to help in cleaning daily the villa was very nice.
Betty came one night to cook for us as she is a great Chef! It was a great unforgetable meal!!
The kitchen is fully equiped and much more for large fiestas.
The living rooms are very large and so is the dinnig room.
We did not use the pool since it was April, though I am sure in Summer it is realy great.
The wireless connection did not work while we were staying but there was a computer with wireline connection working.
The water smell is of Sulfulr and it would have been better if it wasn't since its not very nice.
A sketch of the house would have helped to know in advance how can the group be devided.
In general, this was a great experience to live in such villa in Tuscany! thanks Betty!

We can not expressed clearly enough how disappointed we are on Villa Betty. We chose this villa after reading the great comments from other guests. The Villa is very nice but we wanted to have the experience of the cocking and the great atmosphere of the house.
We had no cleaning (we were in the house from Saturday to Saturday) and no cooking. The two days that someone came to do the cleaning, was just to do the beds. There is no such service as cleaning for the rest of the house. The cook was not available and only the last day we had a highly recommended cook by Betty. The dinner was a disaster. Not only the cook did not follow the menu that we had agreed previously but the cooking was so poor we had to through away half of it.
We only saw Betty ones beacuse she is working in another city and Nicolas was not at all interested in making our stay more enjoyable. The house is charming but there is no attention to detail and they have a severe problem with the water. The smell of it is just unbearable. You can not even shower with that water when it rains a bit.
We also had to pay 450€ for the heating of the house even though it was indicated on the contract that it was 340€. This is a price after a discount that Nicola estimated around 50€. The discount was to compensate the absence of the cleaning service which Nicolas said its 15€ per day.
I would not recomend this villa to anyone.

The villa is advertised as having 7 double rooms. One room can only be entered by going through another bedroom.
Overall, the villa has plenty of space and is ideal for a large group.

This villa could not be more perfect. It took us two full days just to wrap our heads around this fantastic 11th century house and beautiful property. The pictures absolutely do not do this property justice. The kitchen is a modern masterpiece in an incredible setting. No bugs to worry about -- all the windows are screened. Betty, her husband Fazio, her son, Nicholas, and helper Laura, were fantastic. They came every day to clean (while we were touring the amazing Tuscany countryside), and the pool was cleaned and grass and flowers watered every evening. The meals prepared by Betty, et al., were simply amazing. The house is huge and incredibly well decorated. We had, at times, 13 people in the house, and did not feel crowded. The pool is beautiful and the water amazing (it's a salt water pool, so it was comfortable to stay in for hours). Gaiole is just 1 km away, but we felt completely secluded while on the property. You cannot see any other house or other building while on the property. If you want the perfect holiday in Tuscany, this is the villa. We cannot wait to return.

Words cannot express the service provided by this villa owner and her son. We were amazed at the kindness and willingness to help us when our rental car broke down. Nicholas made phone calls and spoke Italian to the tow truck and arranged for a replacement car for us right in Gaoile. Bette's welcoming dinner was fantastic, as were the meals we had at her restaurant. The cleaning woman, Laura, was as sweet as she could be. Our vacation was one of a lifetime, all due to the villa and the terrific service given us at Villa Betty. Grazie! All 8 of us hope to return someday.

Fuimos muy felices en Villa Betty, guardaremos un recuerdo estupendo de esos días. La casa era maravillosa, el pueblo ideal, y la situación perfecta. Todo eso más los cuidados de Betty hicieron una estancia recomendable a cualquiera que quiera conocer un trocito de la maravillosa Toscana pero sufrir las masas turísticas de otras zonas. Sólo un pero: los insectos y sus molestos pinchazos. Habría que intentar aislar un poco más la casa.
