Il Casolare welcomes its guests in a landscape of absolute beauty and tranquility, a valley characterized by typical Tuscan elements: vineyards, meadows, woodland, wheat fields, olive groves, white roads and cypress trees.

Although in a rural setting, two charming hilltop towns are just a short distance away: Montepulciano, renowned for its Renaissance architecture, and Montefollonico, of Medieval origins and yet to be discovered by the tourist crowds. The farmhouse is also situated only 6km from a town where you can find all the services you could need- restaurants, markets and shops. Finally, all the main tourist areas within the Siena province are reachable within 30-45 minutes.

Scenic walking paths are close to the farm and you will find safe, paved roads throughout the surrounding countryside with an almost complete absence of traffic- A slower pace of life is encouraged at il Casolare.

The stunning Tuscan farmhouse dates back to the year 800 and was once the centre of activities for the surrounding vineyards. Abandoned and almost completely collapsed, it has been carefully restored maintaining its original character, now in symbiosis with modern technology.

Interior

Il Casolare aims to be much more than a hotel or mere bed and breakfast. The goal of the charming owners is to make guests feel at home. The hosts are friendly and helpful but professional in their approach, very happy to make suggestions and recommendations of places to visit, restaurants to eat at and activities in the area.

The rooms themselves are exquisite, designed in a simple but elegant style they provide a relaxing haven for guests. There are four suites (with living areas) with en suite bathrooms. A further two double bedrooms can be found in a converted outbuilding, and these also have en suite bathrooms as well as sharing a private terrace with spectacular views of the rolling hills and landscape beyond.

Introducing the convenience and comfort of modern technology to this ancient farmhouse, each suite is equipped with free internet, temperature control, and a "raindance" shower.

Services include: a delicious daily breakfast (able to cater to special dietary requirements- gluten free, vegetarian etc. with advance notice), towels, bed linen (changed every 3 days), free transfer to the local train station and/or Montepulciano.
